A healthy glow from all the fresh air – enjoy the winter wonderland!

Sand between your toes – fun-filled summer activities for toddlers and teens alike!

Kalajoki is known as a maritime destination. True to its name, ‘fish river’, Kalajoki has plentiful and generous fishing grounds. The world under the sea is a fascinating place. Visit the Kalajoki Marine Nature Center and find out the sizes of the largest fish in Finland, among many other interesting facts. Can you spot a fish bigger than you?

Did you know that the world-famous ice hockey star, Jussi Jokinen, was born in Kalajoki? A park in the city centre, Jussi Jokisen puisto, has been named after him and filled with a great range of jungle gyms, swings, slides, bars and many other fun activities for children and teens alike. The park also features an activity track for exercising your muscles, a table tennis spot and a small artificial sandy turf field for games. Playing is the work of children, and here you can play as much as you want!
